After I have downloaded something (in Bit Comet) and close down the program, I can't seem to find how to re-start the seeding later.

Is there a way?

I always had that problem with bitcomet also. I've switched over to Azureus anyways because apparently bitcomet is shite and slows down transfers for everyone or something. I have to say that I like Azureus a lot more.

bitcomet, doesnt slow you down, it actually uses cheating techniques to speed you up, thus reasons why it is banned.

to re-seed, click on the torrent again, it will d/l the announce and will verify the file is the same .. it will then begin to seed.

The major torrent sites I use (tvtorrents, demonoid) work no problem with bit comet. What major trackers have banned it? Does piratebay ban it? I haven't used that site in a long, long time. I read it's become the overlord of torrent sites.

Yeah azareus uses java runtime and can slow your system to a crawl. Bit comet plays well with others.

that did it. If I double click on the file it starts to seed.

Thanks guys.

Many of the private torrent sites have banned bitcomet. A nice alternative with a small memory footprint and encryption is http://www.utorrent.com/.

I've used all three programs and it seems like Utorrent is the slowest of them all. I'm not sure why this is the case but to verify this I try to d/l 3 movie files from the same torrents and utorrent was the slowest for some reason. I'm starting to see Azureus takes too much cpu usage and sometimes locks my comp that I can't do anything. Bit commit has been treating me pretty well for what I use.

My favorite is definitely bittornado. It is the fastest in my opinion. It works alot like bitcomet but without the cheating.

I second that. I've used Bittornado for a long time now and it's great. Yeah many sites private sites have banned bitcomet. Heck if it's able to be used to cheat then I totally agree with the decision.
