Ever pass a foreigner on the street and wonder: "Is that jongnoguru?" Or "is that Lemonande?"

I'm starting to feel very uncomfortable about this. Who are you people? I know the identity of only one poster on this forum (besides myself). On the street I here phrases and points of view similar to those posted here and wonder if I could be speaking just now to visitor q or Mills.

Am I the only one who feels uneasy about this?

Not me my friend - I haven't spoken to a single foreigner here since I returned from my recent jaunt in the cesspools of S-E Asia. I would have taken pictures of all the debauchery, but I was too worried about my camera being nicked by some Laotian opium dealer.

Unless you're the lazy-eyed guy who suprised me the other night with a hearty "Hi", you have not talked to me.

Funny that buth you guys would have read this thread.

Ubiquitous.

I don't so much literally mean Mills and visitor q, I meant: 'doesn't the existence of this whole anonymous network make you somehow uneasy. Recently I got accepted to the "hidden menu" forum. A whole secret universe. Unless you got the invitation, you'd never even guess there was another index here under "Buy/Sell/Trade Forum."

Maybe I'm being paranoid. I mean, I know no one is watching me, who would care, but... did you see Eyes Wide Shut?

I guess everyone is aware of this fact of the internet. But on this forum it's really struck me the last few days, as the foreign community is so small here in Korea. Just about anyone you bump into is gonna have a Dave's identity.

And now that I know about the invitation-only index, I feel even less at ease.

Who are you?

I think you are expressing a desire for another get together. From time to time, some of the posters who either tire of the anonymity of cyberspace or who want to attach a face and body to the IDs they have been secretly lusting after, organize an evening of drunken debauchery at a third-rate love motel. (I'm exaggerating.)

People here do organize get togethers. Maybe you'd like to organize one in your area. Debauchery optional.

"SwampFest 2006" certainly has a distinctive ring to it...

While us bottom-dwelling swamp creatures will admit a desire to meet some posters, they are not courageous enough to go to a community gathering. A midwestern up-bringing did not prepare us for meeting certain other types of posters. Let's just say, Out of our depth and leave it at that.

I know over a dozen posters from this sight and they're all wonderful people, even if some of them can be a bit belligerent here. There are only two people from this sight I most certainly would not want to meet in real life, though I'd love for them to meet each other.

3 guys walked past me the other day without saying hi. I said HI in nine different languages just to make sure and still got nothing. Rather rude, you feel. There was a long period of eye contact as we walked towards one another so a greeting of some kind felt required.

And if you speak to me on the skreet, make sure you have a doggy biscuit or else I'll bite off your balls. One at a time!

I don't feel obligated to say "hi" to every Westerner I see on the street. I don't say "hi" to every Westerner I see back in the real world, so why make exceptions?
