The topic basically says it all.
I have 4 weeks of vacation a year. We get a week off every 3 months per 12 month contract plus additional holidays.
I have my 3rd week break starting in April and a doctor has recommended I go on bedrest! I don't even feel like I'm working that hard but yet I come home and feel like I'm 90 years old.
Has anyone else had this problem. What a waste of a vacation but honestly all I really want to do is SLEEP! |

If you think it's a good idea, do what the doctor says. It never hurts to just rest your body and brain. Maybe just spend a couple of days in the house until you get bored and then take a trip somewhere. |

You may not feel how tired you are when you are rushing from one class to another and doing a million things at once. However, once you slow down it may hit you.
It can't hurt to take it easy for a couple of days. I find it difficult to rest myself I like to be on the go all the time, so I have to tell myself to take a rest.
Use your vacation to recharge your batteries and do stuff you don't have the time to do when you are working and I don;'t mean cleaning

You might be surprised how doing a bit of *light* excercise and treating yourself to several nice meals a day can help.
I found I had the opposite problem this year - three weeks off, a week of useless February lessons and then another ten days off and I could hardly wait to get back to work, especially when it was too cold to do much in Korea. |

I basically agree that you don't really realize how tired you are until you've slowed down.
I only have 4 more months here and I am worried that I'll regret wasting these vacation weeks. I guess resting is never a waste of time.
I know right now the only thing I can think of is that I don't have to get up a single day next week if I don't feel like it.
Unfortunately, one week is not long enough! |

I did 2 years straight of hagwon work--the first year was split shifts. By the end I really, really needed a vacation. Went to Thailand for a month...it took 10-12 days of lollygagging/no schedule, good food and I was feeling 100% again! |

Yu Bum Suk hit it right on the button! Get out and do some light exercise, join a gym, hit the treadmill, if you are really lucky and live near a swimming pool go for an hour swim a day and you will feel 100% better. |
