Dependson the customs limits, but I'm guessing you'd have better luck with it in the checked baggage

I always carry Soju when I fly (for drinking on the plane). 20 trips and 8 different countries and I have never had a problem. I usually carry 4- 200ml flasks so not near your 2 liters. 2 valium, 2 flasks and a beer. I'm out like a light and ready to fly anywhere.

Consider the paper cartons in your carry on.

I think he means the tetra pack / drinking box / juice box style of soju as opposed to glass or plastic bottles.

You know you've been in Korea too long when you're drinking soju on the plane. They're handing out Heinekens and wine for free, and on THAI air, even cognac. Why would you want to ingest that battery acid when there are far better options?

I just find the cartons easier to stash in various parts of the luggage. And I don't look like a lush pulling out a 2 liter bottle. Very Happy

Years ago, I used to take soju in the cartons back to a friend of mine in the States. He is a very well-to-do businessman, but he acquired a taste for soju when he visited Korea once. He is a member of my church back home, and that is where I often would see him, so I took it there one Sunday.

He wasn't there that day, but his wife was, so I handed her the plastic bag filled with the soju cartons. I just told her it was for her husband, but not what was in it. As I was walking away she ran over to me and asked, "'Errr, what is it?" I told her and she said, "Oh... I'm glad you told me, because I thought it was some kind of fruit juice; I was going to put it in our daughter's bag lunch for school tomorrow." Shocked

The kicker? The mother was the president of the school board at the time.
