| I keep getting a critical error or no response every time I use this function. Surely fixing it would mean that questions do not have to be endlessly repeated on this board. Anyone else have this problem? |

Critical Error is as good an answer as any HITS you would b likely to get using the search function here....
I think it just picks a list of threads that start with each letter in and of each word you put in the search engine...but I can't prove it now...damn. |

phpbb search code sucks. use google. add

to your search.
there should be a search sticky. |

I see no problem with new people asking old questions. It's far faster for the uninterested to scroll right on past a question they are not interested in answering than it is for a newbie to search old posts trying to find one that directly fits their individual situation.
When I have a question, I want to communicate with a real live living person...not do a term paper research project hunting for kernels of relevant data. But then, I hate the phone things where you get a menu of numbers to select from to get to the right information. Grrrrrr. |

Yeah, a lot of times when I search a topic the browser will say "done", but it's just displaying a white page.
Or, in the case of user names, it will not display any results. For example I search "Porter_Goss", nothing. I search "Kermo", nothing. I search "PaperTiger", nothing.
Why? Wey? Why? Wey? |

| My impossible dream is that someday all posters will give their topics relevant titles that clearly indicate what the content of the thread is. In addition to saving precious the seconds of my life that I might otherwise waste clicking on a thread entitled "A Question" or "What Do You Think of This?", it could make it easier to find what you're looking for when you do a search. |
