I was just having a quick squiz at Yonhap news to see if anything that happened to me last night was in the news, but found this instead:

S. Korean ruling party advisor says U.S. refused him visa

SEOUL, April 23 (Yonhap) -- An advisor to South Korea's ruling party Sunday said the United States Embassy in Seoul has refused to issue him with an entry visa.

Chyung Dai-chul, an advisor to the ruling Uri Party, had applied for a U.S. visa so he could take up a one-year position as an honorary researcher at Stanford University, but said his application was denied.

"I think there might be some reason for the U.S. to refuse me a visa," Chyung told Yonhap News Agency.

He speculated that the "uncomfortable relationship" between South Korea and the U.S. prompted the embassy to deny his visa.

Chyung, who was convicted and sentenced to five years in prison on charges of bribery in 2004 related to a presidential election in 2002, was pardoned last year.

Chyung, a five-term lawmaker, served as chief election campaign manager for incumbent President Roh Moo-hyun.

(END)

Note the bold parts - he doesn't notice that maybe his corrupt actions for a rather serious political crime were the reason he was denied entry? Not so much about Anti-Korean hatred this time round, chief.

Fairly typical case of screwing something up and then blaming it on the Americans.

Most countries won't let convicted felons in.....if they know about it. The U.S. is no different.....unless you have some pull like one of the ex-korean presidents' son does....convicted felon he is and yet the son still got a visa. It's all about who you know who knows so and so.....

Fairly "typical" indeed. Good story.
