Hi. Looking for some input from anyone out there in the know. I noticed that Konkuk and Ewha are hiring. Anyone have any info on these jobs? Which has better pay? Employment conditions? Thanks in advance for anything that comes up from this.

Why not apply to both and see what they offer you?

Which position is a real "professor" type position? I notice the KKU jobs indicates 20 week semesters (but they run 16 week ones) and mentions "Institute" classes (RED FLAG - Is this a hogwan job?).

Know that KKU has begun enforcing a three year limit for their foreign professors (and possibly for the hogwan teachers also) - so if you want to settle down somewhere - don't take that job.

Ehwa - maybe more reputable.

The last time I just up and interviewed for a position, they called my boss. Fine, had they offered me the job and required the reference. That served to put me in an awkward position with my current department, however, as my boss is pretty small-minded. I didn't take the job, didn't want it, and the whole interview ended up being an entire waste of time (too low pay, too many contact hours...none of which they would come clean about UNITL I had interviewed). Please understand my reasons for asking here to get some info ahead of time.
