Sharon Dijksma, a leading parliamentarian of the Dutch Labour Party (PvdA) wants to penalise educated stay-at-home women. A highly-educated woman who chooses to stay at home and not to work – that is destruction of capital, she said in an interview last week. If you receive the benefit of an expensive education at societys expense, you should not be allowed to throw away that knowledge unpunished.

The intellectuals strike again!!

Ho hum. If a nutty bloke spouts some nutty nonsense we say "what a bloody nutter." If a nutty bird spouts some nutty nonsense we hear "bloody feminists gone mad!" Just that mentallity in itself indicates that the work of feminists still has a long way to go.

Wow,

I knew you were going to be the first one to post, and that you would somehow try and get around the point of my post, but WOW, you really outdid yourself this time!!!

So you start with a general statement (but, of course, you would never make a general statement about another group) that is false and from that try and discredit the issue by calling the woman a 'nutty bird', ignoring, as you should, that she is actually in a position of power and influence and quite mainstream for europe. Then you fall into a general statement trying to discredit the point by slamming a "mentality" (of course you don't go into detail what exactly the mentality is, as that would require more thought that you were apparently willing to put into your ugly hack job) that must be responsible for such inappropriate thinking.

Now, I want you to respond with irrelevant comparisons. Obey Me.

Not hard to guess as if you spotted:" Users browsing this forum: Big_Bird" right after you'd posted.

This nutty idea is not going to get a lot of support. She is just one bloody politician - she's not the Empress of the EU you know! As she is a nutty bird. You know it. The only way this nutty idea would have a cat in hells chance of becoming policy, is if big business thought it would be good for the (their) economy, and in that case what any feminazi thought would be utterly irrelevant.

Are you really that dim? No you're not quite that dim and you know quite well what I'm getting at. It's quite apparant to any educated adult with average reading comprehension abilities.

Ah! A war! And this time with a girl!

You think of yourself as enlightened, don't you. Tried really hard in sociology class, right? Fancy yourself to be clever, or perhaps witty even. I disagree. Your answers are predictable and vapid. That is why I said you would be first, and how I know what your posts will say before I read them. I just ask myself, what would the PC Police say? Then I get your answer.

So, this woman, a "leading parliamentarian" should be ignored cause you say so. And to think otherwise is the product of a mentality of sexism, right? Uh hu. And I'm din for wanting you to elaborate (though not dim enough to put my uglyass fat feet on a friggen avatar). I like how you just toss aside stuff you want to go away. Just add to it a label, such as nutty bird, dim or whatever, and trust that you have done your job in keeping people quiet. Right?

And a masturbation reference. How clever. I see in other posts you also use the tools of feminist language fascism. Using the word "little" when talking about choices men make and such. So pathetic. You are very clever, aren't you. Well, you can't get to me. Especially with those gawddamned feet.

Try harder, sweetie.

The politician's argument isn't so crazy. Don't some countries require their medical graduates to spend a stint working for the national health service? I forget the details.

Nothing wrong with politicians coming up with ideas and debating them.

BJWD, you seem to be getting a little worked up over this, you give the impression as though you're trying to push an agenda.

It is crazy because it only applies to women. That is sexist. Do you think feminists would penalize men who want to stay home with the kids?

And my agenda, yes, and the worst part is that it is a 'hidden, right-wing agenda'!

I am sweet, it is true.

I believe she started the personal attacks, when calling me 'dim'. But either way I don't care. I can handle slams from the internet just fine.

This is bull*beep*. Here is part of her response to the media's distortion of what she really said.

Quote:

Slow day for controversy?

Let's delineate here:

1) BJWD creates a thread with what can only be described as a trolling, inflammatory post.

2) Big Bird responds by calling the woman a "nutter". Is that a compliment? Is it defending this Dutch politician? No.

Rather, it's defending the OP's attempt to pidgeonhole "feminists" with his own base, close-minded, Rush Limbaugh-borrowed label.

3) In the ensuing argument, BJWD says that Big Bird is ignoring this woman to be PC, which ignores Big Bird's initial statement that she thinks she is a nutter because BJWD has already pre-drawn his conclusion.

4) Then we have this:

Quote:
It is crazy because it only applies to women. That is sexist. Do you think feminists would penalize men who want to stay home with the kids?

She only mentions punishing women, right? That IS sexist. It's certainly not "feminist" to advocate punishing women and not men.

Think about it, numbskull. She's making a blatantly chauvanist statement and you're blaming feminists? You're blaming the PC movement for a woman calling for punishment of women?

I'll agree with you, it's CRAZY.

5) Then you're attacking BB for her calling this woman a nutter.

6) You have made one of the silliest trolling posts I've ever seen on this forum and are essentially arguing with yourself.

Your argument boils down to this: a woman in the Netherlands is guilty of being a "PC feminazi" because she wants to punish women for not working more.

I applaud you for bringing to attention this clearly sexist policy. As Big Brd indicates, this thinking is wrong.

But more to the point, I applaud your thinking that your own thinking is wrong, even if you haven't come to grips with that yet.

Oh, your feminazi post was just kidding, eh?

Indeed.

Ah! A war! And this time with a conservanazi!

Your responses to BB didn't appear to be a joke.

Apologize to Big Bird.

Tell her you were just joshin'.

Or just burble. Wink
