Spring is upon us and what better time to head out shopping for a new wardrobe. Problem is I don't know where to shop. I know there is an enormous range of clothes shops and Dept stores but sadly I don't fit into the tiny Korean apparel. I have ecclectic taste and like to dress up and down. I'd love to find some new jeans, cotton shirts and some cute skirts.
I look forward to your fabulous ideas. |

If you are in д, you should go to station. There are a lot of factory outlets there and you should be able to find anything you need. Unless you are huge, you should have no problem finding clothes there and sometimes for really good prices, except for the GAP/Banana Repulic store. |

I suggest you start with the basics and work your way up from there. Build a solid foundation first: high (*high*) heels. The rest is optional, actually. |

online shopping. A little more expsnsive, but not having to deal with Korean salespeople makes it worth it.
I also love Muji which has some fab-high quality clothes, but being a Japanese store they are very expensive. |

Travel to Dongdaemun, where you can actually try on the clothes. Actually, you want the Dongdaemun Stadium stop, if memory serves.
I would suggest Doota, Milore (sp?) and APM. They are the three really tall buildings across from Dongdaemun Stadium.
Floor after floor of clothes, shoes, everything Korean. And some floors will probably have sizes to fit you. MAYBE. But the clothes are definately the trendy items (Korean trendy). For a little fun, you can go downstairs to Olive, which sells the same stuff you can find on www.legavenue.co.kr or www.legavenue.com Thanks, K for the link to that store! My friend loved it.

They have guys stuff too, but it's 90% for women. I shop the mens section for winter items (although it's nearly all too small). |

If you're in a department store like the one next to Suwon Station or at Samsung Plaza in Bundang, keep an eye out for Marks&Spencer. They're a British company (at least they were, last I checked) and they stock sizes up to 16 (that's about twice the size of an average Korean girl )
Some of the stuff is a bit old-fashioned, but they've got jeans, underwear, and some tarty things too. |
