Tim Hortons explosion kills 1
Quote: |
At about 3 p.m., another Tim Hortons location near Yonge St. and Lawrence Ave. was evacuated by emergency personnel after employees there discovered what they believed to be a suspicious package and reported the finding to police.
Investigators cordoned off the area near the store, located at 3222 Yonge St., and the police bomb squad has since been called in to investigate the package. |

How did they do that-- "would one of you fifteen or twenty officers come up to the counter, please?"

For some reason, all the police cars in town answered to the call on the radio. |

Sorry if I punctuated Tim Horton's incorrectly. I'm not Canadian so I'm just going off how they do it for McDonald's. |

you have to wait in an obscenely long line to buy a coffee that may as well be mud. |

Actually, their coffee is really good and they sell 50 cups of coffee for every 1 cup that Starbucks sells. In most parts of Canada (except Quebec - you can get good n cheap coffee in many places - French influence) you won't find a tastier cup of coffee in that price range ($1 ~ $1.50). |

while i'm not about to argue the quality of coffee with a guy by the name of 'coffeeman', i would like to say you'd be hard pressed to find an Italian or French national who digs the slop.
if you've ever been to a cafe in either of those countries, you'd be drinking your words.
yes, the price is right, but you get what you pay for... |

Did you actually read what I wrote??? I said that the coffee was good for that price range. I also never said that it compared with coffee in Europe.
However, in agreement with what you're saying, it doesn't compare to some of the coffee I have had in Montreal, Paris' North American cousin.
French people and Quebecois have good taste. I'm not sure about the Italians though, at least not when it comes to coffee. Espresso tastes like burnt coffee beans. I'd trust a Mexican over an Italian to give me a good cup of coffee. Or better yet, a Costarican.
But for wine, give me Italian anyday |

It's true. Italians overroast their coffee taking away all the subtle flavors with it. All that's left is a kind of full-on burnt taste. Have you ever had coffee with Italians after a meal? Disappointing I'll tell you. The truly low point of the meal after eating such wonderful food, just like in Korea when after eating a delicious Samgyesal or Kalbi you are handed a little cup of oversweetened crud.
I also think Italian clothes are overrated. Korean leather jackets and neckties are just as good. Indian made dress shirts are better than Italian. However, Italian food, cars and women are awesome! |
