Seasonal Sandstorms: A Survival Guide
First of all, bear in mind that you inhale as much as three times more dust than normal when the sandstorms descend. And the dust contains contaminants including heavy metals, which are bad for skin, eyes, ears, nose and throat.... If you can avoid going out, stay in.... If you have to go outside, wear a mask, sunglasses and a hat.... If you go outside without applying any skin protection during the sandstorms, you are asking for trouble.... Many people experience cold symptoms during the sandstorms.

That's for sure. My experience as a yellow sand intake riding the motorbike without a mask for a couple of hours down the highway a couple of times felt like it set me back a couple of days/weeks healthwise. Chewing on sand, breathing it in, those contaminants going wherever inside the body lodging wherever. Not good, man. Gotta respect the sky that dumptrucks that dodgy stuff, and get out of the way.

Last one caught me by surprise and I'm still suffering. Anyone know of any sites (in English or Korean) that forecast when a sandstorm is expected? I've heard that they can't be predicted very early, but even half a day in advance would help out a lot.

Thanks

I was quite amusing walking around on Saturday because lots of people didn't have face masks, and instead covered their mouths with their hands.

Just out of curiousity has anyone else gotten REALLY sick from these sand storms.

I was out on Saturday afternoon for awhile. Monday morning I had a headache, sore throat and fatigue.

To sum it all up..I feel like ****!
