so i met with my boss on sunday for lunch. as suspected, there was an ulterior motive. apparently she wants me to end my contract 2 weeks early so that the transition with my replacement goes much smoother than, well, the current new guy. there's really no problem with this since she's agreed to honor all of the contract stipulations: bonus, airfare, reference letter.

any chance of getting a job for 1 month? i really don't want to go home before september 1st.

Be careful that she will still pay the severance. That sounds like a good way to not finish your year contract. She can say that you left willingly and you didn't finish the legal year.
There are summer camps..maybe you could work there. check the posts soon for summer camps.

Just to be on the safe side I would get it in writing that she agrees to pay the bonus, airfare etc.

yeah, it's a toss-up. i forgot to mention my contract would be ending on july 27th in my OP. someone actually DID suggest a 1 month position in Incheon (to replace a midnight runner).

here's how i see it:

1) i go on vacation for a month (maybe two weeks) in thailand and spend a portion of the money i earned here.

2) i live at home with my mom until my new job in the states starts on october 1st.

it seems like a no-brainer. how much money will i spend in thailand in two weeks/a month? never been....

btw, option 3) another 1 month contract comes up - PM me!
