Hi, yesterday i had a problem with windows (on my ACER laptop), so I shut it down then started it again. When it started a black screen with writing came up " we are sorry for the problem..... if your windows was freezing you should reconfigure to the last know safe thingy..." So I did that instead of clicking on the noraml windows one. BUT it has reconfigured to some windows that is huge, the text, toolbars, icons are all too big and a normal page doesn't fit on the screen anymore. It's incredibly annoying coz I have to keep scrolling left to write to read anything. I ahve been in to the Settings and Monitor section, it is set to "default monitor" and I cant' change it. Does anyone know what to do?

Also since then the programmes that i downloaded are all upside down on my screen. I guess I can still watch them I just have to turn the laptop upside down..... any ideas?
cheers

One thing springs to mind: Did your computer come with a CD containing the basic drivers? If there is, you need to install the video drivers that came with your video card. after you do that you should be able to change settings etc. if you can't find the disc, you may be able to download the driver off of the internet. You'd have to know what kind of video card you have though.

hmmmmmm, I'm not really computer literate, so I don't know. I sent an email to the person I bought the computer off so hopefully he'll be able to help.
cheers

you should be able to find all the drivers you need online, just google your make/model.
Or go to the Acer website.

If you have Windows (I think any version, but definitely XP)
right click on your desktop and click on "properties". Click on the "Settings" tab at the top. There is an area that says "screen resolution". What numbers are they at??? Changing this might help your problem...

I hope this helps.
