Was just reading this website about Pachinko in Japan..
According to it, they say most parlors in Japan are owned by Koreans.. and most of them send their money over to North Korea..

I think there are too many pachinko parlors now in japan for all of them to be owned by Koreans. Originally the majority of them were funded by Kim Il Sung. The expat North Koreans in Japan were loaned money from dear beloved leader and they in turn set up the first pachinko parlors.
There are also North Korean Highschools in Japan. Students who go to these schools say the education they get sucks. Mandatory trips to north Korea are part of the school programe as well. |

I'm given to understand that historically at least, money sent back by Koreans living in Japan has been a major chunk of DPRK's GDP.
Not sure how it stands these days though. |
