This is a very argumentative post. I accept that, I am looking for honesty.

I have read many posts by many individuals who don't like christianity.

Fair enough, I don't like many things. That doesn't make it wrong.

I am interested in knowing how many who are agnostic, athiest, humanist, gnostic, communist, etc. want to truly eradicate christianity from the face of the earth as a belief.

Obviously not personal details, just firm honest beliefs.

No personal attacks, just unvarnished facts.

A yes or no answer would suffice, its a social experiment if you will.

I thought of general religion, but I just got of a forum with a 50% ratio of "how I hate Islam", lets not open the can too much, lets just pick one topic of which we should all have a basic understanding of which at least 50% of those on this web already have an opinion and start there.

Its the forum that I just came off, that made me wonder how many educated people hold similar beliefs and how many would be willing to make their verbal beliefs practical.

Its more of a hypothetical experiment than a practical exercise.

Most athiests and agnostics actually don't want to "eradicate" it completely. They want to eradicate it from their lives. There are fundi athiests just like there are fundi christians. Most of them though would not give two hoots if ALL religions did suddenly disappear. But I don't think you are ever going to see an athiest crusade.

BTW there is so much wrong with your two posts, but I am sick and tired of this political forum and dealing with posts like this. I hope my answer was helpful though.

This is from a crazy fundi Muslim (Moussaoui). Obviously America is out to "eradicate" Islam. It may have secret motives (discussions for another thread) but that is defintely not one of them.

Anyone see a difference between his assertion and the OP's?

As part of a general putsch against all organized religions?
Or are we just putting down Christians in this thread?
Sorry, this is silly, and I promised myself I'd try to stay out of the silly threads. Embarassed

Typical hypocritical horsesh!t from any of the idiots who didn't vote "I don't.":

1. Oh! I hate Christianity because it affects my beliefs. Let's get rid of it.

2. Let's get rid of Christianity because christians don't like muslims, and that's racist, even though Islam isn't a race.

3. I'm not Christian, and everyone should be like me.

Frigging idiots. Man up. Let's see who said yes in any form or fashion, you ignorant plicks.

Yes, as a non-Christian, I want to eradicate Christianity because I think anyone who is not exactly like me should be physically wiped off the face of the planet, with the exception of Muslims who have a wonderful and non-judgemental faith and should be allowed to murder all non-Muslims.

Any of my non-Christian bretheren who tell you that they don't believe the above are simply lying. Sorry, fellow heathens, but I can no longer maintain the code of silence. Best to be up front about these things.

So, you said "Yes?" The best defense you can come up with for that decision is, well, nothing? You just don't like Christianity and it should be gone?

I never said that every non-Christian believed that. I said it was typical of anyone who said that Christianity should be wiped off the planet.

I voted to NOT to eradicate Christianity.

It takes all kinds.

I personally think Christianity (and Islam and Judaism and Hinduism and any other diety-based religion) is a load of complete horse dung, but I can't make that decision for anyone else. If people are stupid, they're gonna be stupid whether or not you "enlighten" them.

Do I wish Christianity was gone off the face of the earth? Absolutely. But can we make people do it? No.

If you educate people to truly think with an open mind, they'll entertain ideas outside their religion and they will either realize it's a load of crap, or they'll temper their beliefs so they aren't so completely removed from logic and science and every other observable property of the world.

I think religion is dying, anyway. I hope it is. It doesn't do anything for you except give you a false sense of security and a strong community of people to connect with. There's no eternal salvation, people. When you die, you die. Your personality/feelings/consciousness come from your brain activity, and when your brain dies, everything you remember and have known and have felt and have experienced dies, too.

Sorry to break it to you guys.

Point out the soul/spirit to me, and I will convert. Show me what it does or what it experiences that the brain does not, and I will jump on the Jesus bandwagon. I will have the strongest, most undeniable testimony of any Christian anywhere.

But, alas...this scenario is not to be. I must have "faith". I must just believe that there is a soul/spirit when, in fact, I have nothing but my little neuronal experiences to go on.

I vote "no". In a perfect world, it (and all religion) would not exist. But, this isn't a perfect world. So, if you want to be a grownup and have an imaginary friend who tells you what to do, fine. Just keep your imaginary friend out of my life. In other words. don't involve god in public policy.

It has been "eradicated", just that nobody has noticed! Nietzsche sounded the death bells (long after the event) with his "who has wiped him from the sky?" cry.

Peace , love and goodwill are the cornerstones of Christianity. I don't see any of that at all, alive and well. Only the Quakers, Society of Friends come close , as a group.

But it has been eradicated, just nobody has noticed. Just like rock and roll.....

Remind of a time in human history when that has ever been the case.

Religious/spiritual beliefs are fine if they stay personal.
It gets stupid when people try to shove it down other people's throats or they have the nerve to want money for it.
