No, I'm not referring to the stinginess of the Dave's community but rather the drought of decent discount wall covering.
I'm redecorating my apartment at the moment and wondered where I might pick up some movie/music posters on the cheap. I've seen some in places like Kyobo Bookstore but they all seem to cost an absolute arm and a leg.
Where's the $5 university student bargain bin? |

In university, we'd ask at video rental/music stores for their rotated-out posters.
Even reserve the current ones on the walls. May be a starting point here. |

Larger stationery stores often have a rack of them. Nicely produced on fabric with a strip of wood top & bottom & a string to hang them from. Limited selection but some are all right to add a bit of color to your walls. Reasonable, as I recall. |

Hanja-written calligraphy posters can be very cheap, sometimes just a couple thousand won. They're not movie or music posters, but they do make excellent cheap wall coverings. Plus, it's an easy way to look like a Confucian scholar.
Many subway stations and parks have at least one halabeoji selling calligraphy. |

Why don't you make your own? If you find a shop in Korea, art supplies are usually well priced. If you don't mind abstract art you can do some really creative things to add colour to your apartment. Even with minimal talent.
One thing I created a few years ago was the following: Bought a really big rectangular canvas, painted stripes in earth tones overlapping. I have a lot of art in my living room and that gets the most attention. Its kind of embarassing because I feel obliged to tell people just how simple it was to make. Its hanging over my tv and the different colours tie together the many pieces of art and furniture in the space.
I watch a lot of Trading Spaces so feel free to pm me for more ideas. |

Many music stores have piles of them to give away. |

They showed something on one of those design shows lately...maybe Deisgn on a Dime? Anyway, the homeowner (happened to be Korean) had a snapshot of her self doing a traditional dance in hanbok. They made a series of abstract art pieces by blowing up parts of her picture 800% and cropping them with a hole cut in a card. |

Great FREE posters are available from KNTO (Korean Tourist board...) near YP bookstore in Jonggak, Seoul. You're limited to about 10 posters per person, and the themes are very Korean, but they're huge, colorful things - great for classroom decoration. |
