|
|
Can anyone tell me what it is like in Hwaseong? I have a job offer at the Namyang Elementary.
The recruiter also mentioned the Gov will pay a 'Hinter land' allowance. What is that?
I am looking for a more rural location...either coastal or mountains...
The Job states:
* 22 hours a week (but hours are 9-5:00?)
* 40 kids per class room--is that normal for a elementary pubic school?
I am more concerned about location than money or even working conditions...though the latter will obviously factor in my final decision.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's an OK location for a country school. It's about a 1/2 hour out to Jebu-do coastal town/island attached by a causway. It is about a 1/2 hour bus to Suwon station (busses, subway and train to anywhere).
32-40 kids is normal for a public elementary school.
22 classes per week (40 minutes each). 20k won for each extra class (40 min) you teach above 22.
You will be in the school from 9-5 or more likely 8:30-4:30.
Hinterland pay is an extra 100k won per month above the standard level 1,2,3 pay because it is a rural school. For example - level 3 basic salary is 1.8 million per month. You would get 1.9 cause it is out in the hinterland. |
