If your in the national plan, then you'll have a health card.
It covers most things, also covers dental. |

You can navigate around this site to find most of your answers:
http://www.nhic.or.kr/wbe/index.html
Basically, it's 2.24% of your monthly salary...you pay this and your boss contributes the same.
There's a section on coverage. Hospital, prescriptions, check-ups, and more. But not corrective eye surgery, or plastic surgery, or wart removal, among others. I think there must be some kind of dental as well as my dental receptionist always asks for it whenever I make a visit...I never pay more than 5,000won for a visit(unless I'm getting a hunk of gold glued in), which I think is okay. It says to go to www.nhic.or.kr for more details(there's also a contact number there if you need to contact someone- you'll most likely either have to use Korean or have a Korean call for you).
As CLG said, you should have a health card for the NHIC. |
