My hagwon has borrowed my ARC and diploma to do some kind of registering or something with City Hall. Does anybody have any idea what this is about? |

City hall has no reason to have this stuff. I'd ask your director to get them back before they 'lose' your diploma. |

You're getting screwed with. He knows that you have to pay a big fine if you try to leave the country without your ARC and he will hold your diploma as a hostage to make sure you stay.
PS... you are REQUIRED by Korean law to have either your passport or your ARC on your person at all times.
Watch for the next screw.. coming soon to a location very near your desk. |

I'll bet 10.000 won old wongjongnim meant the education office not city hall.
Perhaps he/she might want to sit in on a couple of your classes. |

He can try to hold my diploma hostage but what he doesn't know is that I have a backup. And my ARC is strictly in the hands of a front office worker that I trust. Wonjangnim also doesn't know that I have a standing job offer that would pay 15% higher. The lightest whiff of funny business from him and he is screwed, not me.
I was just wondering if anybody else has heard of paperwork needing to be done at City Hall. |

I went to our city hall once, but that was for a speech contest. |
