Hi,

I've done a few searches but to no avail. Does anybody recall (and have a link to) the thread which was started by a new teacher facing a very unhappy situation, in which s/he was told he was a useless teacher and that he was to be fired/work for no pay/something along those lines. Nobody had given him any advice/direction and even the 'native' speakers were cold to him/her. He had very low morale.

I recall it was his first month, and I think he was based in Incheon. If you can post a link to that thread (or a similar one) I'd be very grateful.

Cheers

No it's not - but thank you for trying to help. The one I was interested was kind of a plea for help, and was written by a very newly arrived teacher who had been told by the school he was useless. He was feeling bad and didn't know what to do - he hadn't been given any help by either the Korean or native teachers.

I wanted to show it to someone as an example of a 'traumatic ESL experience' as part of a followup to some discussions I'd been having.

The thread first appeared some time ago - but I can't put my finger on exactly when. I think it was still 2005.

No, that's not it either - although it's similar. But thank you for trying to assist nonetheless. This one is certainly useful.

The one I recall somehow provoked more pity. A few people did reply to it, so I'm hoping someone may remember.
