Today I had some awesome teriyaki chicken. My friend sent over the recipie base and I just had to cut up the veges and chicken and add the sauce. It tasted so good. I was looking at the company's website and realized how much I miss cooking and what I'm missing out on. Morocco chicken, thai dishes, chinese... ok not as good as the real thing but still pretty good and can break up the monotony of food.

Living by yourself, back home it was a lot easier to make interesting delicious meals when you could just add some sort of starter and off you go. The food Here it's an issue getting all the ingredients which of course you have to buy in bulk and there's always that one ingredient that's damn near impossible to find. Then make the dinner from scratch.

the supermarkets have quite a bit of sauce and soup starters...i just find they're a bit overpriced (c'mon 2,000 won for campbell's soup?), but worth it sometimes.

also, prepackaged things save on time, but have a downside of preservatives, artificial colors, and added sugar (oh my i sound like one of those AFN PSAs)...

wouldn't think it'd be too hard to sear some chicken or fish with some herbs, steam some veggies, boil some pasta, and throw on a little sauce...and just mix and match like this...err in theory...i'm not much of a cooker either Embarassed

but i do plan on getting a microwave (vs an oven) to cook acorn squash...mmmm

My mum, bless her, just sent us a care package full of maggi cook in the pots. apricot chicken, all those thai dish ones, phad thai or somehting likle that. gravies etc. our pantry is now full as we havent got through all the ones we bought back last time.it just makes it so much easier eh? add the meat and wham, got dinner! you need a care package i think! ask a relative, being only 50 cents to 1.50 its cheap. people at home just dont realise how special things like that make us feel! also recieved some of those marshmellow choc eggs with the orange yolks too, my american mates had never had them. ok now im just skiting! sorry.
