| I want to enroll in a Cambridge CELTA couse in Bangkok this summer. I have searched the web and have narrowed my choices down to the two listed in the subject text. Both look reputable, however the Cactus program costs a little more. Does anyone have experience (or know anyone who does) with these training centers? Any info. would be useful. Thanks a lot. |

Can you ask them for contact details of people who have previously taken the course? |

In theory, if they are both CELTA courses they should be about the same. Both are evaluated by Cambridge University to keep the cerification.
However, different schools have different teachers (and sometimes different teachers) so checking with people who have taken the course before is a very good idea.
I took mine in Seoul and it was great experience. The teachers were supportive (which I have heard isn't always the case with CELTA courses) and, even though I had been teaching for a few years before the course, I learned a lot. A friend who took his in Oz, said the teachers were moody, unsupportive, and fostered competion among students.
If you can get in, the advantage to taking the course in Seoul is that you already know Korean students and should be able to anticipate the issues and problems they will have. (One of your papers will be an evaluation of a student.) When I took the course, the price was competitive with Bangkok because I didn't have to rent housing (twice). |

Teachers also tend to change alot, so asking might not help. Cambridge basically says all CELTAs are equal (and no employer I have ever heard of looks where it is from). I suggest going for the cheaper one. Just my suggestion though |
