It's great.
They may not have many big parks elsewhere but how many other cities have a continuous strip of park running along both banks of the main river?
It's great for walking, rollerblading, fishing, cycling, dating, evening strolls, photos, picnics, hanging out, sports events, kids, old people, young people...everyone.
The media really hyped up Cheonggyecheong and that's nice and everything but it's the Han River Park that really adds something special to Seoul. I guess I could nitpick but I give it 5 stars. |

Yeah , the park is cool and as a runner and cyclist, I use it a lot. I love the fact that even at 3 am on a Tuesday, you will find people out there using it!!! Also, even in the dead of night, always a stand selling something. Just knock on the glass and someone asleep magically pops up with a smile.....
I do disagree with the "continuous" part. There are major parts of pure concrete and underpass.....Also there is a dearth of real trees, though this spring I've seen a lot of planting going on.
I give it 4 stars ****

When I visit, it's a nice place to get away from the insanity of Seoul. |

My ex-gf asked me, "Isn't it beautiful?" I stared across at the dirty water and acres of concrete and brown grass and had to say, "No."
It is better than nothing, however. And for now the beautiful scenery in New Zealand doesn't make up for the 60% tax rate. |

Edmonton. The River Valley is the second largest city park in North America, and it's even nicer with trees, a huge valley, pyramids, and light-years of hiking paths. That said, it's basically off-limits at night, and the only drinking going on is bush parties.
Anyway, I'm a fan of drinking in Yeouinaru at night. |
