We are going on about who you want to win the WC.

So who would you hate to see win it? I'm going for Germany. I hate to see calculated, cynical football rewarded.

For the sake of this poll i doesn't matter whether they are likely to win it or not. So Iran or Korea are allowable choices if you so wish.

Get voting.

Specify if you want to chose another country competing.

The United States. No one in the US would even know there was a tournament going on until the semi-finals, then everyone would be shrouding themselves in the flag, tying ribbons around trees, Hank Williams would write a song about it and some slack jaw from Alabama with a foam "we're number one" hand would say "We done gone good at that there soccer playing comeptition!"

* Shudder *

... or England. We'd never hear the end of it.

PS I got a kick out of the Saudis as a poll option.

USA offcourse. I mean I have nothing against the players or the team, but I totally agree with the above poster. They would shove it everyones faces for years, and they would pretend like its a big thing for them when nobody really cares.

No, give us some proper footballing nations in the final. And no, thats not South Korea either.

Where is the Argentina option? I'll have my arrogant mate from BA calling me for a month if the hand-balling, coke-sniffing, IMF-loan-defaulting little b@stardos get their grubby mits on the Jules Rimet.

USA would be nowhere near as annoying as Korea would be if they won.

As an American, I have to say we would be much more annoying than Korea.

I want you to think about:

Bush photo-op.

And that being the face of international football for a few years. Shocked

But I'm still American enough to have voted France. France sucks.

Bingo. I think the US should be banned from the sport entirely. They have no place playing it anyway.

No they wouldn't. There would be 3 twits in Hoity Toity International School from some p*ss-ant European country who would notice. The rest of the country would say (if asked), "World Cup? D'ja mean we won the tiddly winks championship? Again? Cool, dude!" That's what bothers people.

It's like the girl from band camp coming home and saying, "Hey, we took second in wood winds this year!" The captain of the football team replies, "So what? We were 5th out of 8 teams in our conference in football last year. Where are your priorities, girl?"

I picked South Korea, although I'd have to say that a win for the US would appear pretty pathetic.

That sounds pretty arrogant.

Most of the Aregentines I've met said that coke wasn't very popular there. I'd bet it has a significantly higher consumption rate in England, the US or China.

Argentina defaulted on their IMF loans for a reason. They refused to open their country to transnationals, so the IMF called in the loans, they couldn't pay and the bottom fell out of the economy over night.

What would happen if the UK was asked to pay their national debt? Just over 1,000,000,000,000. Compounding another 60,000,000,000 each year. Could the UK pay that off in a timely manner?

The US has more than $12,000,000,000,000 in debt (including state debt). Do you think they could pay that back in a timely manner?

The IMF default was a global power play to essentially take over the country. Look what the IMF did in Korea. We have a McDonalds on every corner. The sole purpose of the IMF revolves around the transnational cartels, so trying to insinuate that the Argentines should be faulted for this plutocracy seems pretty asinine.

Namaste.

Do you understand the concept of 'banter'. I don't think his comments on our Falklands invading chums were serious.

I also hope the Italians don't win. I have a few Wop mates, and the thought of those Mussolini loving, long-haired, diving ponces sends a shudder down my spine.

I would have like to vote against Portugal in this poll, but it wasn't a choice. I just loved it when they lost against Greece in the last WC. I lived in a Portugese area of Toronto and they drove me crazy with their stupid behavior whenever they won a game. Driving around choking traffic at dinner rush hour time. Waving their flags. What's so great about their country anyway? At least the Greeks can cook up some mean food.

Good one! Smile

I can stand anyone but the French winning it. I thought it was a given all Brits would vote against those garlic-smelling swine in this poll.

The American corporations would have a new sport to exploit. Trading cards, Commemerative coins, stamps and limited edition dinner plates, Wheeties boxes with the team photo, McD World Cup Happy Meals, and big sponge cowboy hats with World Cup written below a Budweiser logo. Laughing

Just teasing ya guys! You know we luv ya.
