|
|
Hello there,
I'm planning on doing a month's trip around India in September and then from there to the weird and wonderful world of teaching in Korea.
Just wondering if anyone's had any experience of setting up a job from somewhere that's not their home country ... will it be a ball ache? Will I have trouble getting my new school to cough up upfront for a flight from India to Seoul? Will be pretty skint I'd imagine.
I did a year in Korea about five years ago so that will be of some help, I guess. Though you can never really be sure what you're getting yourself into ...
Many thanks for help, advice, suggestions.

If you're a native English speaker, hagwons will fork over korean won to fly you in from Timbuktu.
The demand is that huge.
I recommend you have a backup set of everything, so... at least two original copies of your degree, four sets of transcripts sealed and signed on the flap by the university, a dozen passport-sized photos (including one uploaded for emailing), a full resume online, access to a reliable courier service and the means to conduct a phone interview.
Then go for it! Good luck whatever. |

| I thought there are some paid exchange program at some of the college and U in Seoul, that offer teaching job to foreigners who are eager to transfer knowledge, e.g. foreign history, technology and languages. |

I got my job in October after working and travelling in America for 4 months. Im Scottish.
I went through a recruiter and everything worked out fine but it might not have. I got the "the school wants you but you need to be there on Monday" line. (I was told this on Thursday night) I said "balli balli." I just really wanted to teach in Korea. |
