Hi there,
Family and I are planning on moving back to Canada this summer, and while at HomePlus today thought of buying some pencils and things for the kid for the upcoming school year. Then I thought back to the old days when I was a primary school student- schools used to supply pencils, erasers and books. Does anyone know if they still do, or are the kids supposed to bring their own stuff?
Thanks in advance,
TMT |

How old are you . No, they don't, atleast in Toronto or the East. They barely provide the education let alone the supplies
(actually, the education is not that bad) |

Since I've never compared the prices of any school supplies, are school supplies really cheap here?
I mean, couldnt you just hop over to a walmart, or zellers, or even a Dollarama for school supplies while in Canada?
When I was in elementary school, I think my parents just paid a fee, and the school provided everything. It must have just been at my particular school, cause I'm not that old.
This actually makes me miss the old days of "back to school" time! |

You're on your own so get a govt job and then raid the supply cabinet- that's the great Cdn way.
Korea is way ahead on cool and cheap school supplies for kids, so buy it there and give your kids a shot at being the cool new kid in class. |

Thanks for the info, all.
Yes, I am old.
We will be stocking-up on lots of cool stationery for my kid before we skeedaddle.
Cheers,
