Hey everyone,

Any of you close to Shin-do Shi (New Airport City/Town), or close to it? I'm trying to meet some people out here, but it is rather difficult. Apparently, the teachers at the other two schools have been treating our teachers like crap (I don't know much about it, I just got here). So, if I go try and make friends with those guys, something negative will more than likely happen.

So, if there is anyone close by that wants to meet up, drink a cold beer, etc......I"m here.

Cheers!

I lived there for a month with a friend while I was between jobs and homeless last summer. There is a high turn-over rate at the hogwans there so it may not be as difficult to make friends with other foreigners after all. Your best bet, though, is to figure out the bus routes to and from Bupyeong, start making friends at the Goose, and crash at yeogwans or friends' places on Friday nights.

There's a great gym with some very good looking (though probably married) Korean women and friendly trainers in your community as well.

Bupyeong? Yeah, I've been there before. I used to teach in Gwangmyeon back in the day, and would go to Bupyeong to hang out every now and again. That sounds like a plan.

I am not exactly sure about the other two hogwans here, although I have heard a few things. The one I am at seems ok and the teachers swear up and down that the owners are great (which, they have been good so far, seeing as how they are both American).

Sigh.......why couldn't I have landed a gig in Changwon, Bupyeong, or even Sinchon? Oh well, I would rather be a little bored and work for a good school, then work for a nightmare.

Hi DMBFAN.

I have been living in shin-do-shi for the past couple of years. I worked in the town for one year but now teach at a university in Incheon. If you are interested in having a beer sometime, send me a pm and we can meet.
