I'm gone in 3 weeks time and trying to think up something fun to do on my last week with my kids.
I'd love to throw a mini party for them with games etc. but as I have 17 classes of 42 its kinda cost prohibitive.
What do you wise people have to offer? |

Have them bring food and drinks. Mooch off them for once But really, we do this and they are always able to bring something, and for the few kids who can't, the others bring enough for everyone. |

Or you could get each student to give you 500 won and then you go out and buy the sncaks etc. A friend of mine did that with her students.
Are you coming back?
If not, say Hi to England for me

i'm back in july/august but in Seoul instead of scuzzy Incheon.
I'll go with the "bring in your own food" idea, that'll work well.
I'm so psyched about going to England, I'm getting a crate of board games, usborne puzzle adventure books and where's wally books sent over! |

We know you have difficulty with the idea of large classes -- you've announced so dozens of times on these forums. But just because you cant think outside the hagwon box doesnt mean these classes cant be workable, productive, & fun. |

Something I've done in the past, that the kids love, that you will love, and that requires almost NO preparation ... plus, it's educational!!
For each class, as a group, have them make some kind of goodbye pannel.
a) Prepare a large piece of paper (you can draw a big house on it, or a big ship... whatever you like).
b) Give a small piece of paper to each student, and depending on their English Level, have each of them write you a message on it. They can write whatever they want, and draw on it as they like (good time-killer as well )
c) Gather all the students' works, and stick them all on the large piece of paper you've prepared earlier.
d) As a group, look at all the drawings and comments, and congratulate your students for their nice work and good English!
Enjoy!! |
