After 4 months of hagwon grief, I have landed a (hopefully)decent public school in Sanbon. I had a quick look at the area whilst driving through and it looks pretty clean and modern compared to where I was (Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do).
I was just wandering if there's a good foreigner scene there or nearby, and if there are open spaces to kick a ball around (round or oval - it's all good).
I've read other posts on Sanbon and kind of have a rough idea what the score is, so any more info would be appreciated.

Cheers all

Foreigner scenes in towns that size are always changing, I'd imagine, so if you don't hear from someone currently living there you probably have to find out for yourself...

It seems like its very well situated, though, right on a major subway line, and it's only like a half-hour ride to Seoul...

Well Sanbon is Gunpo, and Gunpo, Uiwang, Anyang are all close together. I think there's a good number of foreigners in the area...I've seen a lot in the Bumgye station neighborhood (Anyang). It's not too far to most parts of Seoul from there so that's a plus. I know there's a lot of mountains for hiking, and an Emart and New Core Outlet!

I know Gunpo and maybe Uiwang and Anyang too have their own little GEPIK type thing going on...housed in GEPIK but they have something else going on too. Last fall there was a native speaker who borrowed money from tons of teachers and then took off, I think after they got around to finding out how much each teacher lent him it was about 2 million won.
