Just a word of warning.
Immigration workers weilding their power in their own little worlds have found a new way to annoy me.
In their infinite wisdom, these plonkers are finding new and improved ways of making life difficult for people applying for E2 visas.
Going along with the theme of continuing on the pointless practice of requiring original University transcripts in a sealed University envelope, some workers, (apparently not overly impressed with the influx of foreigners) are at times now requesting that seal on the back to have some sort of signature over it also!
I just had a teacher's transcripts refused at Gwangju Immigration.
It was original, it was sealed, it had a University seal on the back. As there was no sign of a signature over the seal or common sense in the mind of the Immigration "worker", it was refused and now the teacher must order new copies.
Just be overly sure of your transcripts when applying for a visa.
Make sure they are originals in the university envelope.
It is sealed.
There is some sort of seal on the back...a sticker reading "void if opened" or something like that.
And a signature of some sort over the seal.
Oh. By the way, when asked for a uniformed policy statement regarding what is acceptable and not, the Immigration office gave me those wonderful three words which make all of our lives that much easier here.....CASE BY CASE. |

Oh no - terrible news!!!
Next they will one one of those Hello Kitty stickers on top of the signature, as well as a lipstick print from Scarlett Johannsen too...
Yeah, I also got the reply of 'case by case' - I just wish an applicant would know in advance of what's required from them.
There has to be a limit to all this. They are surely turning away many teachers because of this, and there will soon be a conflict with market needs. |

That would require foresight..which is usually an after thought here, or some logic..I hesitate to believe I will ever witness that in any government office. |
