I hate the ATMs here.

Has anyone ever left a 10k note (or more) in there upon taking out your wads from the dispenser?

What happened? What happens? I use KB and their machines have a timer that really makes me panic. It also doesn't bloody help how it dispences your card and receipt at exactly the same time as your cash! What do you think I am - a bloody octopus? Does the ATM recognise that you've left a note in there, or can you basically kiss goodbye to your man won?

That's a specific scenario, but if you've any other ATM horror stories, do post them. A dodgy ATM once swallowed my card and switched itself off without giving it back! I had to pay 2k for the privilege of a new card which THEIR crap machine swallowed!

No, if it swallows your money you'll get it credited back to your account. They just need to review the transaction record. It takes a while, though. Been there, done that. (In Canada and in Korea, actually.)

I once had the machine shut down because it was 10:00. I still had over 10 minutes by MY watch. Confused Anyway, it shut down just as the money appeared in the slot. 200,000. I was reassured by many people that it was never actually taken out of my account and I could just try again the next day. The next day, I checked, and sure enough, it had been taken out. The bank people informed me that what had likely happened was that the first person who used that ATM in the morning when it opened up again had gotten a lovely surprise. Confused I never got my money back.

WHAT??

How can you possibly not get your money back? You could totally rip a bank's head off back home for crap service like that.

well....you're fooked!

I'm so scared of getting burnt (a la Pet Lover) by one of these bstds I only ever withdraw a massive wad from a bank when it's busy. That way I never run out of dough AND reduce my chances of getting burnt if it's busy and I've got witnesses.

I've always wondered about that ATM thing, too. It does make a me little nervous each time I dash my hand in. For one thing, I want to make sure I grab just right and don't leave any bills behind, but at the same time I'm concerned about not being quick eough and the thing closing up and severing my hand! Shocked
