Does anyone know if peyote (the psychedelic cactus used in the Native American Church) is legal for purchase and consumption in South Korea. I want to make sure before proceeding. Thanks.

Go to the source.

Here are some numbers for the Korean National Police Agency that are answered by English speaking officers. It's possible they will be able to answer your inquiry.

Seoul Metropolitan Police Foreign Affairs: 738-9997, 739-6848

If it is legal, it'd explain a lot.

Try it and see. If it makes you question Korean culture then it's illegal.

My boy Blue said it was ok as long as you don't tell no one.

It's full on legal if you just lick the cacti growing around Kwanak-san.

Go to Japan.

On a visa run to Osaka, I was surprised how many head shops there were within a stone's throw from the Kor embassy.

Mushrooms, peyote, morning glory and a whole whack of other stuff that is (was?) apparently not illegal, but not legal.

Never bought it, never tried it, but I guess it does something. A lot of people were in these stores browsing. They also have some great indie music CDs.
