Raiders of the Lost Ark: the Adaptation

I've been surfing the torrent sites for this for a while now and I haven't had any luck at all.

Has anybody here found it?

Somebody here must be involved in some newsgroups somewhere -- that's where I figure this will be.

I'm interested in finding this as well. for those not in the know you can find out about it at imdb and there is a movie being made about the kids making this movie.

Quote:
This is a shot-for-shot remake of the original Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), made by three teen-age boys in Mississippi over the course of seven years. Their production wrapped in 1989, and was shelved and forgotten until 2003 when a copy fell into the hands of Eli Roth (writer/director of Cabin Fever (2002) who passed on a copy to 'Steven Spielberg' . Spielberg congratulated the boys on their hard work, and said he looks forward to seeing their names on the big screen. Scott Rudin and Paramount have purchased the trio's life rights and will be producing a film based on their adventures making their remake, known as Untitled Daniel Clowes Project (2006).

It's screened very rarely. I caught it here in Toronto last year and it is definitely worth seeing. The boys would probably send you a DVD if you wrote and asked:

And there's a nice CBC story here:

Quote:
Though there has never been a cease and desist order, the three filmmakers have agreed that they will not financially benefit from showing the film. Instead, Raiders: The Adaptation plays only at non-profit festivals or fundraisers. Piracy is a huge concern, and one of the three travels with the film to all locations. Advance copies are not made available to the press. "Mr. Spielberg and Mr. Lucas have given us a strange and silent endorsement and were not going to exploit it," says Strompolos on the phone from L.A. He will accompany the movie to Toronto. "We want to stay true to the spirit in which it was created." They want it to remain pure.
