Last time I was in Korea, it seemed as though the only U.S. credit card that was widely accepted in stores was VISA.
I am headed to Pusan this week and I'd be looking to purchase an assembled computer at one of the computer plazas there. Does anyone know if the situation is still that VISA is accepted by merchants but Mastercard is not? It's to my benefit to use the latter.

All are accepted (at my store) except for Discover. I have even run through AMEX a few times. None are accepted online when a company uses a Korean credit card processor. They only accept Korean cards. |
