I live 20-25 minutes north of Masan.

I don't like Masan because none of the streets are straight. It is an old city that just slowly transformed into an inconvenient modern one. It is an industrial/port city.

Five minutes outside the city is great! If the area you are going to is on the outskirts, you should be fine.

Actually, Masan, Changwon and Jinhae form one city, with a fairly substantial mountain smack in the middle of it, dividing it up. Changwon is an entirely new city that abutts Masan on the north side of the mountain. Straight streets. Some western restaurants. Open spaces. Green.

All in all, not a bad area at all.

Can't say anything about the location, but since I read this:

I arrived in Korea about a month ago .. turned up at my new job, looking forward to meeting the American chap (Jeffrey) my recruiter had put me in touch with, whom I'd had my phone interview with. He had told me what a great school it was, that he'd had no problems at all, the staff were great, that he'd been with the school 11 months etc etc .. only to discover the school had never heard of a 'Jeffrey'!! *laughs*
Who was this person .. THATS what Id love to know!

I am EXTREMELY wary of what ANY recruiter is telling me about ANYTHING!

Good luck.

Jungni isn't too bad and is fairly new but it is quite a way from masan so if you like to have a big weekend it could be tough....
