I am in the process of dealing with a couple of recruiters on securing a position and have received contract offers. I also have been recruited by a teaching director of Kids College directly. What is the consensus as to whether you can negotiate the contract and handle the situation yourself versus letting a recruiter handle the work for you? Does anyone have any experience with Kids College? I am leaning in that direction. |

Don't negotiate through the recruiter. They will not do so in good faith because, after all, what incentive do they have? They'll just tell you the school won't budge and could you please just sign right now already?? |

If you don't like the contract don't sign it. Ask your recruiter to find you another job. That will probably make him try a little harder for you.
Your recruiter has no power to make you sign anything. If you are unhappy or wary with anything, keep your pen in your pocket.
But don't blame the recruiter for a crappy contract.
Most writers on this forum will tell you, and they are right, that most recruiters just want you to sign anything in a hurry and arrive ASAP, anywhere. But it is you that chooses to sign the contract or not.
By using recruiters though, you will get introduced to more jobs. Just make sure it is actually you who decides what is worth signing on for. |

Stay away from Longbridge Pacific. They have a rap sheet a mile long my friend! |

Hi,
Kid's College is a franchise so some of them are ok. Some, like the one in Songpa, are horrible. They do have a pretty good program set up but the pay isn't that good and the hours are long.
My own personal experience has been that non-franchise hagwons are usually better.
If you go with Kid's College, see if you can chat with some previous teachers.
Good luck! |

I am also looking for a job right now. I've been here a couple years and have had both good and bad experiences with recruiters. When it comes down to it, if a recruiter pushes me, then I won't deal with them anymore.
I strongly suggest other people do the same. |
