Evil or Very Mad

Somewhere else someone posted recently that service here is either really bad or really good. I agree--I just feel like complaining about having gotten a lot of the former lately. There seem to be so many useless young trainees behind the counter with no one around to supervise them.

Yesterday I went to Baskin-Robbins to get a mocha cooler. There were two 12-year-olds behind the counter. Of course they pulled the whole omgit'saforeignergigglenoyoutalk routine, which I was expecting so that alone didn't bother me much. Then after I ordered they stood there and conversed for some five minutes in hushed tones as to how to actually make the mocha cooler. Neither of them knew. Finally one suggested they call their supervisor or manager or whoever on the cell. So the one girl is standing there on the phone asking for directions while the other is holding my cup rather helplessly and trying to measure out exact amounts of mocha syrup. Then she needs advice on whether or not she was supposed to put the syrup in and THEN the crushed ice, or whether it should have been the other way around....kid, like it's going to taste any different either way--it's a shake, not a freakin work of art.

Then I've been in Dunkin Donuts three times this week for the same damn thing--a regular coffee. (I don't hold up the line like the ajjumas ordering fifteen different kinds of green tea flavored donuts and changing their minds six times and putting some back. All I want is a hot cup of coffee.) Same thing, two 12-year-olds working the floor (and they did have their supervisor around, but she was just as useless). So the first day the kiddo brings me iced. The second and third time I had to wait about fifteen minutes while all three of them tried to cope with the green tea ajjumas before they finally got around to getting me my coffee.... Rolling Eyes

I know they're only making 300 won an hour and I should cut them some slack, yadda yadda. It's just irritating.

I was all set to mock you when I opened this thread, and end up being smacked in the face with a hilarious stories. Okay, the first one was hilarious, the second was just larious.

At least (or hopefully Shocked ) you have a sense of humor about all of it.
