Anybody have any recommendations or general information concerning Korean language programs offered during the Summer months (ie. July and August)? I'm contemplating doing a 3-week or 4-week course. I'm looking for something that offers a range of levels, too, not just an introductory course. I've looked at a few of the websites of the universities with Korean programs, and see that in many cases their Summer semester starts in early June, which is too early for me.
Thanks. |

Sogang University has a summer programs and offers multiple levels. As anyone who has studied there can tell you, it's one of the best.
Check their web site here: http://sgedu.sogang.ac.kr/korean |

Thanks for the responses. The link to the Sogang website is not working, by the way. I tried to get there via google, got as far as the main Sogang site, but the link from there to the Sogang site also seems invalid.
I looked at the sites of the schools on that list. My impression is that Yonsei and Korea University are priced high, so I'm not looking at them too closely. Konkuk looks fairly inexpensive, but their dates may not work. I'm going to go to Chungang University today and speak with their Korean department, and probably take a level test.
The only previous Korean study I've done is a few months at YBM at Jongno. It's very cheap in comparison to studying Korean at a university, but I can't say I was satisfied.
The institution Ganada, near Hongdae, looks pretty good judging by the website. More expensive than YBM, but seems much cheaper than most of the university programs. |
