Compatible with Autocad .DWG, cool.
How long is the evaluation copy good for?
Purchase price is $495 USD, cheap compared to autodesk but still expensive for just something to mess around with. |

Just got the word:
"Just yesterday Sketch-up announced that they have a free downloadable version for non-commercial use. Here is the sight to download it."

Thank you Eye, I can't say enough about this software- revolutionary and life-changing are 2 words which spring to mind. I have long dreamed of this day. I think I'm going to buy as much google stock as I can.... |

Obviously "very cool" (we are getting the jargon down.)
Since it is clear that we out of range for teleportation to our own planet, I and my stranded crew shall attempt to construct a new ship to return home.
This is of help. We envision our craft as taking the seemingly normal form of a children's playground.
We thank you earthlings!
At first we thought your message refered to your atrocious (from our viewpoint) of "rendering" "animals" for consumption.
We now recognize you as sentient beings. You wouldn't mind if we take a few of your females with us would you? |

If that were the case, I would pay dearly to know what you thought a "rendering nerd" looked like. Maybe you could sketch(up) one for us?

Pro version demo is good for 8 hours.
Has anyone tried both yet?
I'm wondering what the pro has that the free doesn't, but I'm still learning the free.
For example, I'm still trying to figure out how to create 3-D shapes like cones, pyramids (which I sort of have been able to do), spheres and hemispheres... |
