Hey
Soon enough Im gonna have to send one of my guitars back home (to Ireland) as i cant carry both as iM doing abit of travelling on ther way home.
Im in no rush to get it home so could send it by slow mail (ie-land mail) I know it takes like 2months but that'd be fine. What Im wondering about is how it is carried cos I only have a soft case- although a well padded one which i has room for much more extra padding with towels etc...
Anyway, does anyone have ANY experience sending a guitar home, even if not like the above, Id be interested to hear the how, where, how long and also how much??
Also any releveant links would be appreciated too,
Thanking you!!!!!

I've only had experience taking guitars with me as checked baggage, not though mail/shipping; however, if you care at all for the guitar(s) and hope to actually play it/them after you get back home, I'd strongly urge you to invest in hardshell cases. Everytime I've picked mine up at the luggage counter I could count the new dings, scrapes, and tears in the case, yet the goods inside remained A-OK (duly padded with said towels, socks, and/or underwear...). I can only imagine the carnage resulting from shipping a guitar via soft case... |
