Here's what I find odd about Mission Impossible III. It's going to be a summer block buster. Tom Cruise. Car chases. Stuff blows up real good. MI: I and MI: II also each made about 400 million world wide.

How many people who have seen MI:I and MI:II can even remember the plots of the two previous movies? From the first movie I remember that well parodied scene where Tom Cruise breaks into the computer room and does the Cirque De Soleil thing. But WTF was the plot? I mean, Die Hard and Die Hard II I can recall the plots no problem. That movie with whats his face on the battleship, I can remember the plot even if I can't remember the actual title or the name of the actor.

But MI:I/II? Fer get it.

I submit, the movie going public just sucks.

MI:I was pretty cool.

MI:II should have been titled "Tom Cruise is cool & has long hair" ... since that was the basic plot.

I'll probably see MI:III... but I'm in no hurry.

We found MI3 entertaining. A decent popcorn flick. We didn't like the ending much, which just kind of petered out of steam and left pretty much everything unresolved. For *beep*'s sake, they didn't even explain what the bad guys were after - only that they had to stop them.

Mindless tripe, but entertaining.

Namaste.

I liked it. It wasnt as convoluted as the first two. It was fun, lots of cool stunts, locations. The asian chick steals the movie with her sexuality. It was a fun popcorn flick.

That red dress was off the chain.

MI:1 - IMF has a rat, the op to find him goes sour, Hunt's team is wiped out. As the lone survivor, he is targeted as the mole and is forced to go off the reservation. He nabs the target intel (agent ID list) from the CIA headquarters in order to negotiate with an arms dealer who can arrange a meeting with the mole.

MI:2 - Tom Cruise has long, flowing hair. Everyone wears fake masks. There is a great line in this movie, though. The bad guys says of women, "Like monkeys, they are. They won't let go one one branch until they've got a firm grip on the next." It's paraphrased, but you get the idea.

Overheard today during a lesson:

"Tom Cruise is a handsome boy."

Imagine the reaction when I informed my students that Mr. Cruise in now in his forties.

Q: If I thought MI sucked donkeys' balls, and furthermore thought that MI2 was so abysmal that it could only dream of aspiring to suck donkeys' balls, then what are the chances I'll like MI3?

A: I don't know, but I do know this much- I won't be using my own money to find out.
