Axl should have retired the G n R name. He isn't Guns And Roses just like Johnny Rotten isn't The Sex Pistols. I predict that most fans will agree with this and that the album will not do well. Sorry, but that's what I feel. I wish Axl would re-name his new band. |

Axl is a, well you be the judge...
I went to see that Montreal concert way back when. The one with the riot. I bought tickets from a scalper. And for a high school kid that was big bucks paid. I walked in and Faith No More was finishng their set. The accoustics were bad but I didn't care much. After all, Metallica and GNR were gonna be on next. Metallica came on for what was two or three songs and stopped playing. James walked into some pyros and had to be taken to teh hospital. They promised to make it up to us by coming back for another show. They even told us we could use our tickets for the next show (though that idea was voided after the first cop car was turned over) and after a 45 minute wait "(gnr didn't want to come on till show time) gnr comes on. They sing two songs...then Axl starts yapping away about Warren Beatty. Something about him being a bad person or something, who cares? He goes in and out twice to change clothes after 5 or songs he doesn't come back. The rest of the band was left alone on stage. Word got to them that Axl had left so some stop playing but SLash gave us (what seemed to be) a 5 or 7 minute solo and then said sorry, walked out. And from where I was sitting, I saw a limo drive away. 10 minutes later, there were a few chairs thrown and all hell broke loose.
The guy is a wanker. And I wouldn't call his music timeless either. |

i can totally see where you're coming from Liquid Sunshine.
My first gig was GN'R, Faith No More and Soundgarden in '92.
GnR cancelled the show at first. I forget the reason.
when the re-scheduled show happened, GnR were 2 hours late. the crowd was FURIOUS!
they were still being booed when they eventually came on and rocked. it was a love/hate thing going on because obviously everyone loved the music but some say Axl did things like that deliberately to create an aura and also wind the crowd up - like that's a good thing in his book.
axl treated his fans poorly in my view but at least he didn't pretend otherwise, unlike Kurt cobain who was supposdly an anti-rocker free of all the arrogance and bull and drove around in limos even mick jagger wouldve found extravagent, cancelled shows, was rude to fans, gave crappy performances, spending half the show on his back etc etc. don't get me wrong i love nirvana but at least axl was genuine and didnt hide the fact that he's an arrogant pretentious bstad. he was also genuinly volatile anda real nutjob! today's rock stars SUCK! theyre boring! Bulsajo probably loves them. we need bad, a$$hole Rose back being late for shows, starting riots etc etc!
re montreal: axl said in 92 or 93 that he'll never play in a city beginning with 'M' ever again. stuff always happened in those places apparently. |

I watched the VH1 special and it basically showed him as 2 things; 1) a genious when he's at his best, and 2) a very unstable person emotionally. The band described him as difficult, selfish and greedy. On the other hand, Axl had to make most of the decisions for the band because they were screwed up on coke and alcohol most of the time. Ah! That's Rock 'N Roll! |

If this is a new picture, he's looking good. I saw a live video of him and his new band. Like most guys his age, he has a gut. I couldn't believe that he'd still insist on keeping his shirt open while performing. He doesn't still think he's a hot guy still, does he?
Anyway, that doesn't matter, so long as he still has his energy and voice. The new album should be good, hopefully. But like I said earlier, it probably won't sell well like previous albums. He is not GNR. |

check the article, with 2 supposedly "finished tracks". sounds like 12 years of waiting just isn't worth it... |
