In one of my classes, one of the boys has a crush on one of the girls.
The other students tease him by singing:
If they're going to tease him, they can at least tease him grammatically.
As a solution to this problem, I did a Google search for famous lovers in fact and fiction.
Then I set their names to the students' song.
This is what I came up with:
Next I shall use images from the picture book 돼지가 아기를 업었습니다, published by 한국프뢰벨주식회사.
The original caption for this picture is the same as the title of the book:
The original caption for this picture is "고양이가 편지를 우체통에 넣습니다":
As you can see, the illustrations follow the pattern of subject, object, and verb.
All of the illustrations in the book follow this pattern.
I hope that if the students see this pattern often enough, they will recognize that the pattern is different in English.

A few years ago, before I bought a scanner, I copied all the pages of this book on a black-and-white copy machine.
Now I am colorizing all these pages using Adobe Printshop and Macromedia Fireworks.
It is very time-consuming.
I wish I had the illustrations now, so I could run them through the scanner directly.
I tried to check the book out at the Suweon Library, but they don't have it.
I asked if there was an interlibrary loan service in Korean, but they said that there isn't.
I tried to order from the publisher, but they said that it was part of set which costs 500,000 weon.
If you have access to this book, or to three similar books entitled:
하마가 일가루를 뒤집어썼습니다
기린이 팽이를 돌립니다
너구리가 인디언모자를 썼습니다
let me know.
