I have learned," the hard way" and through the board that the boss has to withhold and pay my taxes. He hasen't been doing this. Neither as any pension money been paid.
He's been a great boss and I don'tn want to start a war with him. E and his wife has been very ood to meMy contract finishes the end of June. If the taxes are not paid by then, will I be able to get my visa renewed for the next job? Will the unpaid taxes keep me out of Kotea until the tax isues are paid?
I brought up the matter once with the boss and haven't gotten a very clear answer yet. He also hasn't been paying into pension.
He said for me to write the letter of release and a recomendation letter that he will sign. Is it really worth fighting him over these issues?
My main concern is being able get another F2 visa without paying the taxes. Does anyone have advice on how to mke this work? My boss and his wife have been really nice to me. I'd rather not burn a bridge unless I truly have to in order to address these issues,
awaiting your suggestions as long as they aren't total rants |

You dont need a LOR with an f2. Period. Confront him and clear this up. You may need to go to the tax office with your spouse and head off any trouble. If your boss is putting you in legal trouble then he is NOT a great boss. |

I don't think the tax office and immigration communicate in the least. I went to the tax office before leaving Korea, and found that there was no record of me there after 4 years, two of which were spent working for municipal govt. |

The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Your boss could not be paying medical insurance, pension, taxes, and will get off scott free unless you do something about it. |

My first employer never withheld taxes from my pay. When I asked him about it, he stammered a bit and said that he would just pay it all in a lump sum at the end of the year. Whether that actually happened or not, I never heard. |
