Thanks for holding the door to the next train car open for me, that was a very cool thing to do.

Haven't seen that kind of decency in six months. Almost thought I was back home for a minute there...

I also noticed you walked under the turnstyle, very uncool.

The rest of us have to pay to ride, why not you.

You think you are so special.

Normally I'd reply by saying that I thought dogs could ride the subway for free, but I promised Jinju that I wouldn't do the dog thing anymore....

It still SHOCKS me when someone/anyone is polite in public, in Korea.

I do like holding doors open for women I don't know, letting women on/off the elevator first, and watching their initial confusion. "What is he... oh he's a foreigner... they have those gentlemanly manners. I saw a TV program about that..."

THe other day I got on the tube and saw a couple of empty seats available. However i noticed behind me were a couple heading to the same seats.

Despite the fact I was clearly going to get there first I decided to stop and let them go past so they could sit together (I was only going about 4 stos anyway.)

Sadly all my actions seemed to do was confuse the poor couple to the extent they did not want to sit there anymore and they just stood in front of the seats without sitting down.

Ha. Once a young couple came into the car. There weren't two seats together. They sat on opposite sides looking at each other. There was an empty seat next to me. Via hand motions, I clued the woman into "Hey, if we switch seats, you and your BF can sit together." She quickly figured it out. A happy couple.

I give my seat to:

a) Old ladies
b) Anyone with a young child in arm (I'm sometimes lugging my GF's nephew on the subway and I sure appreciate when someone gives a seat to me)
c) Old frail men

Older men who look healthy I stay planted on the theory a) one of the above is coming on the subway soon and need the seat more than him b) he's enjoyed every right and privilege as a Korean male, he can stand.

No, I just think that even though people don't come right out and say it, his view that the schtick is old and pathetic is shared by a lot of people on the board. I've been at it since 2003-4, it's time I moved on. It was funny for awhile...it ran the course...it might be a good time to stop.

Really? I disagree- I think more ppl supported you than not. You know the haters come out on this site more often than the lovers... For some posters to attack your lovable persona just shows how low some posters will stoop. Bashing your persona was just Jinju grasping at straws.

We love you, Superfly!
