I don't believe in blasphamy. It implies that man actually knows the real will of God and what he would think offensive. If there is a God, and I could go either way on that one, I would think he would have a great sense of humor. You'd have to to do that job.

By "neither deserve significant attention", do you mean that no one should make a fuss about their supposed blasphemousness (a real word, I wonder?) or that no one should pay attention to them, PERIOD?
I think South Park is fucking hilarious (or it was in its heyday). |

The former rather than the latter.
I'm grateful that we in the West could discuss these matters without throwing Molatov cockatils around willy-nilly. |

On the other hand, Dave's ESL - which is not really a part of the Western world - does tend to censor innocuous terms such as Molotov diddly-willy-doodle-tails. |

Really. Where's the blasphemy in the Mary episode? The real blasphemy is in the Catholic Church's idolatrous worship of Mary. Take a nice Jewish girl from the first century, add a healthy dose of Greco-Roman pagan goddess worship, shake well and voila "Mary: Queen of Heaven and Mother of God." . That's where the blasphemy lies folks. |
