Just re-read the "Working in Korea" article on galbijim's wiki and my lord does it make sense. It should be sent to every newbee out there.

Especially the parts about checking up on your school and on how to use and consider the information you get from online boards when it comes to contracts and jobs! I especially liked the comments about posting contracts online and about blacklists and finally about accepting a certain level of uncertainty.

A good read: http://wiki.galbijim.com/Portal:Teaching_in_Korea

Seconded. Without a doubt the most current, accurate, & thorough
lowdown on working here on the net.

I like this website, and it gave me some more information. Having said that, I hope prospective ESL Teachers continue to post their contracts in this forum. When I critique a contract, I comment on what I'm knowledgeable about.

Contracts change, its interesting to see what some schools are trying to put in these days, its very helpful for to get some personalised help too(I remember I did).Noone has to read them but if they do they can be useful informative for everyone imo,

i've just signed a contract this week and i also agree that galbijim is a corker of an info sight.after efl law went pay for view i was a bit concerned about having only daves to use as a resource.as good as it is, i like at least two places to go to.
i held out for a good contract in a place i wanted to go but i followed the newbie advice on both boards, renegotiated my contract and checked out the school from a variety of means.well done.

That link needs to be in a sticky somewhere!! While there are quite a few (and some say too many!) stickys, maybe there should be one sticky in each forum with links. Example: "Job-related links" sticky, "Travel forum links" sticky...

At first I thought that said "Joo-related links." That could be a sticky as well. WARNING: he will repeat the same argument again ad nauseum, even after being refuted! Caveat lector!

Oh, and back on topic: yeah, the info on the wiki is getting pretty good. The best part is that you (yes, even you, whoever you are reading this post right now) can add on even more information if you think it'll improve the article even more. If it's useless of course we'll just revert the change though.
