Ive recently installed an English version of XP - which makes everything much easier for me in terms of using my computer, however the one drawback is that i can no longer download (english language) movies and also use korean subtitles at the same time - all i get is hieroglyphics, ive tried installing the korean language support pack from windows - but that hasnt made any difference...so has anyone else had this problem and found a way to resolve it?

i use GOM player to watch the movies and IPOP to find the subs.

thanks.

The stuff near the end is what you need to do.

Quote:
Clicking the Advanced tab in the Regional and Language Options control panel brings up more options. The top box is labled Language for non-unicode programs. In general, it is not possible to know which programs support Unicode and which do not. Therefore, if you are working in Korean: some of your programs will show Korean just fine, and other programs will show either question marks or garbage, whenever a Korean character is displayed. The solution is to set the "System default code page" to Korean. In Windows XP you set the "Language for non-Unicode programs" to Korean, and then Korean will show up correctly in all applications.

Of course, you may have to switch back to English at times, as I discovered, when installing new programs. Hope this helps.
