Hello Dave's people.

"DDD" magazine is having a Saturday night chat and dance party May 13 in Hongdae from 8pm til...

The two bands playing are Korea's talented Indiesound The Mustangs--formerly named "Marijuana" until the goverment made them change their moniker to the Mustangs. The sound is still independent with smart feelings.

The feature band is Tabula Rasa. A Soul/fusion band with a thick inky and smooth sound that does shots of Soju on stage and gets everybody moving.

"DDD" magazine is into it's third year of making Korea's only free, bilingual and independent magazine. The parties are always fun, the people always interesting and the reckless quality of a well spent Saturday night is always realized.

3000 won fee goes to the bands. Everyone welcome. Even the usual suspects. check www.lifeinkorea.org for the map.

"DDD" magazine... we don't blog and we don't Von Dutch.

Well, the magazine (which I'd never heard of ...) certainly has a colorful layout:

Wow! What a bonus option if you select Hongdae on May 13!

Wow you haven't heard of "DDD" magazine.
We make 6000 copies and do distro in Hongdae/Sinchon... Itaweon/Habongchon... Hyehwa dong and a bit in Gangnam...
Next issue in September....

The style and method of it (for now) is called Guerilla publishing.
I guess that means if you haven't heard of it OOPS I mean have not read it...
well, I guess that means that you are not a Guerilla... Congratulations!!!
See you at the party...

Hey S, I've not seen a single copy and I keep looking for them whenever I am in Seoul.

Do you come to Daejeon anymore?

Why does the mustangs' website say they're not playing then? I also asked the drummer when their next gig was & he wasn't sure but when I said "aura? next week?" he said nope.

Are they definitely playing??

Thanks

The one thing that always makes me shake my head is why there's always that same U2 song on the website.

when i talked with the owner of Aura ("The Mustangs" is his band), he said one of the band members was coming in from outta town, so they weren't 100% sure they would be playing. They'll be opening up the show at 9:00, then Tabula Rasa will carry the rest of night. If they can't play, then Tabula Rasa will do the whole show. Either way, should be a good time...was a blast last Christmas Eve!

I lived in shinchon for a fair while and I never saw the magazine, but I would have liked to.
