practice convincing your friends that they have to pay for all your beer every time you go out because you found the bar. If they start finding their own bars, don't hang out with them any more.

Practice by insisting to yourself and others around you that making phone calls is indeed a terrible amount of work. Everyone knows the questions to ask, and everyone knows where the schools are, but MAKING the phone calls, now THAT'S serious work.

If the work were difficult, do you actually think there would be so many recruiters around? Little to no overhead, a huge demand created by an insane education market, and a huge supply of Hunter Thompson wannabes in desparate need of a student load repayment.

Pathetic market. Don't know why you'd want to wallow in that pool.

To begin, one must be prepared to sacrifice his morals:
lie and deceive, disturb people by calling them up at 2am,
offer false leads and send people out on a wild goose chase.
When applying for a recruiter's license here, the first question
on the application form is 'Are you prepared to sacrifice your
moral values?' followed by'Why would anyone want to become
a job recruiter?' Cool

Is it me or do the people in my line of work have a poor rep. with you fellas? Confused
When I became a recruiter I was initiated into the club by eating my own young also. And at the strike of midnight, on a full moon, I grow hair and sharp teeth. Shocked

Being a recuiter is not all fun and big money.......

But if you want to try and do it legally here's what you need to do -

First you can't have a E2 visa and then become a recuiter - you need to have NO visa (just a tourist visa) - after you have become a recruiter you can then apply for an E2 visa - (if you wish to teach on the side) - but the E2 visa has to be applied for after you have already become a registered recruiter -

Ok - now to be a registered recruiter -

you just need 3 things - (1) - an office or officetel
(2) - a university degree
(3) - a minimum of 1 (one) Korean employee

After you have ALL 3 - go to your local Gu-cheon office and fill in all the paperwork, pay a fee and register your "recruitment company"....

then you just needs lots of friends (especially korean friends) - and the money may start rolling in -

if you then find - you just aren't making enough money - you can get a P-T teaching job and apply for an E2 visa (as an additional job)....

Some hints - have a korean friend sign up as an employee - then you don't have to pay him/her much

get a second cellphone

get used to answering the phone at all hours of the day/night/weekend

get used to other foreigners (especially Canadians) hating you

open up many many email addresses....

get as many korean-web site job vacancy sites as possible...

and LAST but very important - although you may try to be the most honest, mature, hardworking and helpful recruiter - GET USED to MEETING a LOT of twisted-up, crazy, selfish, greedy, psycho Western English teachers - who will DEMAND EVERYTHING for nothing - and after deceiving, tricking etc YOU - they will blame it ALL of you - (the recruiter) and call you every obsecene ****** name in the book - even some you have never heard of before.....

If you are still interested and want more info - PM me...
